New Patient Registrations

With reluctance, the Practice has informally closed its registration list temporarily. This means we will not be registering new patients for a while, although would like to reassure you that we are doing this on “reasonable and non-discriminatory grounds”, in order to protect the quality of patient services we offer to our current existing patients.

We currently have approx. 10,500 patients and 4.5 GPs giving us a current ratio of Doctor / Patient of 2,333, which will reduce shortly to 4 - increasing our ratio to 2625 patients to each GP. This is much higher than the national recommendations

We will still continue to allow new births of existing families to register, to keep families together. The same will apply should existing patients inform us that they will be looking after foster children, or adoptions etc. Students returning home from college and moving back into their family home will also be accepted, which living in our area.

We will of course also continue to accept patients who have been removed from a practice list but need to be allocated to a GP and live within our catchment area.

To find alternative practices, please check one of the following:-

NHS Choices website - www.nhs.uk/findservices

PALS - Patient, Advice and Liaison Service (PALS). Telephone: 0800 0525 270 (Mon – Fri: 8.30am to 4.30pm)

Or by word of mouth - (friends, family, work colleagues and neighbours) as not everyone living near us is registered with us and may have experience of other surgeries locally.

If you would like to leave your name and contact number with us - when we re-open our informally closed list we can contact you and should you choose to join us you would be welcome.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you but thank you for your understanding.
