Repeat Prescriptions

green_pill_spillPlease allow 48 hours to process your prescription. This enables us to check, record, issue and sign the prescription. We get several hundred requests a day so please allow us this time and please try to ensure that you do not run out of medication before ordering your repeat prescription.

You can bring, send, post or fax your prescription request to the Health Centre. Alternatively you could speak to the pharmacy of your choice about their RPS (repeat prescription service) and they will order, collect and deliver your medication to your door. If you do not want their full service you could arrange for them to do part of the service such as ordering or delivering only.

To use our online service you will need to first register to use the service, please ask how to do this at reception or follow the online link. Once you have a user name and password you can request your prescriptions monthly and at your convenience.

Please be aware that we no longer accept telephone requests for ordering repeat prescriptions. The main reason for this is one of safety and to prevent the wrong medication being ordered or prescribed. Many drugs have long and complicated names and errors can be made when ordering or describing what your drugs look like. Our repeat prescription clerks, whilst are fully trained, they are not clinicians and can only request what is ordered or pronounced / spelt by the patient. We are very sorry to those who used this service, but hope you can appreciate why we have decided to stop this method of ordering and can find an alternative option which suits you.

Emergency Requests

In case of emergency prescription requests, we will do our utmost to process these as quickly as possible. The earlier these requests are made, the better the chance of them being acted upon quickly and efficiently.

Ordering of repeat medication close to holiday periods

Please also remember that the surgery closes during bank holiday periods and so, should you take regular repeat medication, it is always advisable to order a few days earlier than normal, to ensure your prescription is ready to collect before the holiday period. This will prevent you running out of medication during any holiday period
